Product Description

Adipic Acid (CAS 124-04-9), also known as hexanedioic acid, is a high-purity organic compound with the molecular formula C6H10O4 (HOOC-(CH2)4-COOH). This white crystalline powder is classified as a saturated dicarboxylic acid, featuring two reactive carboxyl groups (-COOH) that make it a versatile intermediate for industrial applications. With a typical purity of ≥99.8% for industrial grade and ≥99.5% for food grade (E355), our adipic acid meets stringent quality standards including GB/T 2226-2010, USP, and FCC specifications.

As a key raw material, adipic acid is primarily used in the production of nylon 66, where it reacts with hexamethylenediamine to form the polymer backbone. It also serves as a precursor for polyurethane foams, plasticizers, coatings, and unsaturated polyester resins. In the food industry, adipic acid functions as a safe acidulant (E355) to enhance flavors in beverages, gelatin desserts, and leavening agents.
