Diisopropanolamine (DIPA) is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C₆H₁₅NO₂, used as an emulsifier, stabilizer, and chemical intermediate.

Diisopropanolamine can be prepared by the reaction of isopropanolamine or ammonia with propylene oxide. 

Application:
The main applications of diisopropanolamine include the removal of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from natural gas and refinery gas, annealing for metal working, inert gas manufacturing, neutralizing agent for electrophoretic coatings, etc. diisopropanolamine plays an important role in these fields, with specific applications including:

1. Removal of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from natural gas and refinery gases : diisopropanolamine is used as an absorber of acidic gases, such as CO2 and H2S from natural gas and petroleum refined gas, and CO2 removal from syngas in the ammonia industry. 

2. metal working annealing : diisopropanolamine is used in the metal working annealing process to help improve the properties of metals.

3. inert gas manufacturing : diisopropanolamine also plays an important role in the process of inert gas manufacturing.

4. Neutralizer for electrophoretic coatings : diisopropanolamine is used as a neutralizer for electrophoretic coatings to improve the properties of coatings.
