Physicochemical property
White acicular crystal, flammable, easily sublimed below boiling point, with a slight odor. The relative density is 1.527. Melting point 131.6ºC. Boiling point 295ºC (sublimation). Flash point (open cup) 151.7ºC. Ignition point 584ºC. Slightly soluble in hot water and ether, soluble in ethanol, benzene and pyridine.

Manufacture method
1. Naphthalene catalytic oxidation method Naphthalene is fused and vaporized with air in a boiling-bed or fixed-bed reactor, in the presence of vanadium pentoxide catalyst, catalytic oxidation to produce anhydride gas, which is condensed and hot melted to obtain crude anhydride. After heat treatment, refined anhydride is obtained by vacuum distillation, condensation and separation.
2. O-xylene oxidation method is obtained by using o-xylene as raw material and air in a fixed bed reactor in the presence of vanadium pentoxide and other catalysts.
